Firday, June 15, 2007 Oakland A's Alan Embree still Closer Santiago Casilla still 1st in line Huston Street DL sill 2nd in line Casilla pitched a perfect, 1 strikeout 11th inning for his second save of the season yesterday. Embree pitched a scorless 9th and 10th in front of Casilla. Casilla has been real good since a June 3 call up, providing some much needed help in the depleted A's bullpen. The 26-year-old has not allowed a run over 8 outings with a 0.60 WHIP in 10 IP with 8 K and 1 hold. Street is still experiencing discomfort with his elbow and is not throwing. The 23-year-old could be dealing with a significant injury and his return this season is in question. Thursday, June 14, 2007 Washington Nationals Chad Cordero still Closer Jon Rauch still 1st in line Saul Rivera to 2nd in line in place of Jesus Colome Rivera pitched a perfect 11th inning in a 9-6 game last night for his third save of the year. Cordero and Rauch appeared earlier in the game with Rauch blowing a save in the 7th and Cordero in the 9th. The 29-year-old Rivera has a 1.21 WHIP on the season in 36+ IP with 24 K and 8 holds. The 29-year-old Colome has a 1.37 WHIP in 41 IP with 25 K, 5 holds and 1 save. Tampa Bay Devil Rays Al Reyes still Closer Brian Stokes still 1st in line Gary Glover to 2nd in line in place of Chad Orvella AAA Glover has a current 7 game scoreless appearance streak and is moving towards a set up role from long relief. The 30-year-old journeyman has a 1.33 WHIP on the season in 31+ IP with 14 K and 3 holds. Orvella continued to disappoint in the majors with horrible numbers of 3.50 WHIP and 14.63 ERA in 8 IP before getting sent back to the minors.
