Randy Messenger to 2nd in line in place of Brian Wilson

Wilson pitched a scoreless 8th (1 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K) to set up Hennessey yesterday in a 4-3 game. The hard throwing right hander also recorded a hold Friday night with another scoreless 8th inning in front of Hennessey.

The 25-year-old now has 4 scoreless innings since being recalled from the minors; 4 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 K with 2 holds. Wilson can further build his future closer value with a strong finish to the 2007 season.

The 24-year-old Street has a 0.94 WHIP in 29+ IP with 36 K and is 10 for 12 in save chances on the season.

The 28-year-old Qualls is the Astros clear next in line closer with Wheeler in Tampa Bay. The right hander has a 1.32 WHIP in 62+ IP with 63 K and 13 holds on the season. Qualls has a 1.47 ERA in 18+ second half IP, after posting a 4.09 mark in 44 IP prior to the break.
